Delete your Camp Roostly account

You can permanently delete your Camp Roostly account and all of the data tied to it at any time. This page explains how to do it from inside the app, what gets removed, and what (if anything) we retain.

Delete from inside the app (recommended)

Open Camp Roostly on your phone or at camproostly.app.
Sign in if you aren't already.
Tap Profile in the bottom navigation.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Danger zone → Delete account.
Type DELETE in the confirmation field, then tap Delete my account.

This is immediate and irreversible. Once you confirm, your account is gone within seconds and cannot be restored. If you have any trip details you want to keep, export them first (Profile → Export trips, or any trip's Share sheet → Download .ics).

Can't access the app?

If you can't sign in (lost device, forgotten email, account locked), email us at privacy@camproostly.com from the email address tied to the account. Include any context that helps us verify you (rough sign-up date, a trip name you remember). We'll confirm your identity and delete the account within 7 business days.

What gets deleted

Everything tied to your account is removed from our live database via cascade delete — atomic, no orphans:

Category	Examples
Account & profile	Email, display name, optional home address, rig dimensions, preferences
Trips & stops	All trips you created, every stop, dates, confirmation numbers, costs, notes, photos
Favorites & visits	Saved campsites, visit history, ratings, dismissed warnings
Email & calendar links	Itineraries you forwarded to us, parsed extractions, scheduled reminders
Sharing	Active and revoked share links to your trips
Subscription record	Your Premium subscription status and trial timestamps in our system. Cancelling your underlying Google Play or Stripe subscription is a separate step — see below.

What we retain (and for how long)

Database backups: point-in-time-recovery snapshots of our Postgres database expire after 7 days. After that, your data is gone from backups too.
Anonymous error logs: if your app crashed in the days before deletion, we may have a stack trace in Sentry. These do not contain personal information (no email, no trip details) and are auto-purged after 90 days.
Aggregated, anonymous usage counts: things like "X people opened the map screen this week." These can't be tied back to you and are retained for product analytics.
Email delivery logs: our email provider (Resend) keeps a record of transactional sends (sign-in links, booking- window reminders) for 30 days, then deletes them.

Cancelling a paid subscription

Deleting your Camp Roostly account does not automatically cancel a Google Play or Stripe subscription — those are billed by Google / Stripe, not by us, so they must be cancelled on their side. Cancel before deleting your account to avoid being charged for a renewal you can't use:

Google Play: Play Store app → your avatar → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Camp Roostly → Cancel.
Web (Stripe): open camproostly.app → Profile → Manage subscription → Cancel. (You can do this even after starting account deletion if you act on the same device session.)
