One named campground: coverage by carrier (LTE and 5G), Starlink rating, camper signal reports, and a booking link when there is one. |
Both tools only read data. They never change anything or act on your behalf.
Where the data comes from
- Cell coverage: the FCC Broadband Data Collection (currently December 2025 data). Camp Roostly turns the FCC's speed tiers into a 0–4 bar estimate. 4 means 5G at 35/3 Mbps or better, and 3 means LTE at 5/1 Mbps or 5G at 7/1 Mbps. It's a model of where carriers report service, not a guarantee. Every answer says so.
- Starlink: rated from land-cover data. "Good" means open sky, "moderate" means partial cover such as scrub, and "poor" means trees likely block the view.
- Camper reports: signal bars reported by Camp Roostly users. There are only a few so far.
- Campgrounds: Recreation.gov, OpenStreetMap, Google Places, and Spot2Nite.
Troubleshooting
Claude doesn't use it
Check that Camp Roostly is turned on in the chat's connectors menu. Mentioning it also helps, for example "Use Camp Roostly to find…".
"Couldn't find" a place
Use a town and state, like "Moab, UT", or give map coordinates.
A campground isn't found by name
Try a shorter name or add the state. When the name is close but not exact, the connector lists the nearest matches to choose from. You can also search near the town instead.
"Too many lookups"
The free connector limits how many lookups one conversation can make in a minute. Wait a minute and ask again.
Something looks wrong
Email support@camproostly.com with the campground and what you saw.
Privacy
The connector has no accounts and collects nothing personal. See the connector privacy policy for exactly what's logged and how long it's kept.
